Day - 1

DAY 01- AIRPORT / ANURADHAPURA

On arrival to srilanka, the guests well be accepted by our representative at the airport,
travel to Anuradhapura. Follwing are the places to visit in Day 1,

Jaya Sri MahaBodhiya
Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is a Sacred Bo-Tree in the Mahamewna Gardens, Anuradhapura District, North Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is said to be the southern branch of the historical Sri Maha Bodhi at Buddha Gaya in India under which Lord Buddha attained Enlightenment. Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi was brought to Sri Lanka by the TheriSangamitta, daughter of Emperor Asoka, and was planted in the Mahamewna Gardens in Anuradhapura in 288 BC by King Devanampiyatissa.

Thuparamaya
Thuparamaya is considered to be the first Stupa built in Anuradhapura, after the introduction of Buddhism to Sri Lanka. It is also one of the “Atamasthana” (8 most sacred places of Buddhists in Sri Lanka). The stupa was built during the reign of King Devanampiyathissa (307 BC to 267 BC). It is believed that the stupa enshrines the right collarbone Relic of the Lord Buddha.

Lovamahapaya
The Lovamahapaya is one of the Eight Sacred places known as “Atamasthana” and it is located in the Sacred City of Anuradhapura in North Central Province, Sri Lanka. When you walk towards Ruwanweliseya from Sri MahaBodhiya, The Lovamahapaya can be seen on your right-hand side.

Day - 2

DAY 02- ANURADHAPURA / MIHINTHALE /ANURADHAPURA

After Breakfast, proceed to Anuradapura.
The following are the places to visit in Day 2,

Mirisawetiya

The MirisawetiStupa is located in Anuradhapura District of North Central Province. The stupa has been built by the king Dutugemunu (161BC – 137BC) after defeating South Indian invader king Elara.

Abhayagiriya
AbhayagiriStupa is the second-highest stupa in the country and it is located in Anuradhapura District of North Central Province, Sri Lanka. It is one also of the Eight Sacred places known as “Atamasthana”. The stupa was built by King Valagamba was also known as VattagamaniAbhaya and Valagambahu in 1st century BC.

Lankaramaya
Mihintale

Mihintale is only 12 kM away from the famous Anuradhapura city. The sacred forest mountain MissakaPabbatha where King DevanampiyaTissa met ArhatMahindaThera and his companions is situated in Mihintale. Prior to that the Lord Gautama Buddha had visited this place on his Third visit which was called as MissakaPabbatha then. Being one of the sixteen places (Solosmasthana) the Lord Buddha had visited in Sri Lanka, this is regarded as one of the most important sacred places by the Buddhists in Sri Lanka. The area of Mihintale surrounds with a jungle and there are rock   monks for meditation in a quite surrounding away from the main city of Anuradhapura. Day - 3

DAY 03- ANURADHAPURA /POLONNARUWA

After Breakfast, proceed to Polonnaruwa.
The following are the places to visit in Day 3,

PolonnaruwaVatadage
PolonnaruwaVatadage is a well-preserved Vatadage in the famous DaladaMaluwa quadrangle of the ancient city of ruins, Polonnaruwa. Vatadages are typical Buddhist structures found in Sri Lanka. These are circular, constructed using stone and brick with intricate stone carvings and a wooden roof. They were built to protect stupas. Currently, there are ten Vatadages in Sri Lanka, and the most popular one is PolonnaruwaVatadage.

NissankaLathaMandapaya
NissankaLathaMandapaya is a unique structure located in Sri Lanka. This architectural marvel is one of it's kind for many reasons. NissankaLathaMandapaya is a unique structure located in DaladaMaluwa quadrangle of Polonnaruwa district in North Central Province, Sri Lanka. This architectural marvel is one of it's kind for many reasons. King NissankaLatha built NissankaLathaMandapaya in the 20th century.

PothgulViharaya
PothgulViharaya is an old library and monastery in the Polonnaruwa district of Sri Lanka. The ruins of this ancient library date back to the twelfth century. The name Pothgul itself means 'Bookstore'.

Day - 4

DAY 04- POLONNARUWA / MAHIYNGANAYA / POLONNARUWA

After Breakfast, proceed to Mahiyanganaya.

Mahiyangana Raja Maha Temple
The Mahiyangana Raja Maha Temple occupies a very important place in the history of Buddhism in the island, as it is the location of the Buddha’s first visit to Sri Lanka nine months after attaining enlightenment. This significant event occurred on a Duruthu Full Moon Poya day in January. The MahiyaganaVihara is also one of 16 Solomasthana (the sacred places in Sri Lanka)

The SomawathiyaChaitya
The SomawathiyaChaitya is located within the Somawathiya National Park on the left bank of the Mahaweli River, and is believed to have been built long before the time of Dutugamunu enshrining the right canine Relic of the tooth of the Buddha. It is attributed to the reign of King KavanTissa - Dutugemunu's father - who ruled Magama.
The stupa is named after Princess Somawathi, the sister of King Kavantissa, and the wife of regional ruler Prince GiriAbhaya. The prince built the stupa to enshrine the right tooth relic of the Buddha, obtained from ArahatMahinda, and named the stupa after the princess. Upon completion of the stupa and other constructions, the prince and princess handed over the temple to ArahatMahinda and other monks.

Day - 5

DAY 05- POLONNARUWA / DABULLA / KANDY

After Breakfast, proceed to Kandy.
The following are the places to visit in Day 5,

Sigiriya Lion Rock
Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla. This site was selected by King Kashyapa (477 – 495 CE) as his new capital. He built this palace on the top of the rock and decorated its sides with colourful frescoes. After some times, It was used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century. Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site.

Dambulla Golden & Cave Temple Buddha temple
This temple is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. This is a sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, this cave monastery with its five sanctuaries and is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. 

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic In Kandy
The Temple of the Tooth is a highly sacred place. The temple contains one of Buddha’s teeth. Legend has it that the tooth was taken from the Buddha on his deathbed, then smuggled to Sri Lanka from India. It was smuggled in the hair of a princess, after her father’s kingdom had been besieged.
It immediately became an object of great importance and has been celebrated and paraded throughout history. However, many attempts have also been made to steal or destroy the tooth. Twice daily, pujas are held to celebrate the relic and offer visitors and devotees the chance to get a glimpse of the tooth within its casing.

DAY 06- KANDY / KANDY

Pilimathalawa
Have you ever visited a new place and felt ‘wow’ about it? For many visitors, it happens at Pilimathalawa.
Pilimathalawa may not be as popular as other cities in Sri Lanka, but don’t let that fool you. Pilimathalawa is a smaller but beautiful upcoming tourist destination that is worth a visit. You will be surprised by some of the unique things to do and places you can explore at this hidden destination.

Gadaladeniya Raja MahaViharaya
Built in 1344 by King Buwanekabahu IV, the Gadaladeniya Raja MahaViharaya stands on the border of Udunuwara and Yatinuwara in the Kandy district. Located very close to the town of Pilimathalawa, the Gadaladeniya Temple (which had been named after the village in which it was built) was also called GadaladeniyaGramayeViharaya, GadaladeniyaGramayeSaddharmakirthiVihayara and Dharma KirthiViharaya. Saddharmakirthi was the name of the founding monk.

EmbekkeDevale, Kandy Overview
Founded by King Vikramabahu III between 1357-1374 AD,EmbekkaDevalaya is an ancient temple dedicated to the guardian deity Kataragamadeviyo and the local deity DevathaBandara of Sri Lanka.

DAY 07- KANDY /AIRPORT

The following are the places visit in Day 7,

Gangarama Temple
Located in Central Colombo near Bere Lake, this 19th-century Buddhist temple complex interestingly includes a vintage car museum. There's a cool Mercedes and a very rare Rolls-Royce Ghost from the 1920s. The temple is also a religious museum with examples of religious coins, jewelry, and sculpture.
The temple was created around a sacred tree to house a sacred relic, a lock of the Buddha's hair. Each year during the Poya or full moon ceremony in February, there's a festival and procession around the area led by the temple's resident elephant.
